Our Story
Voltacore started in 2019 as a buying guide with one rule: every product we recommended had to be something at least one of us actually owned and used daily. That constraint turned out to be a good editor. We cut the catalogue ruthlessly, kept the things that earned their place, and built a customer base that trusts us precisely because we don’t carry everything.
We’re based in San Francisco and focused on consumer tech that deserves attention: the laptop that’s actually worth carrying, the headphones that survive a commute year, the charger that replaces three others. We keep the catalogue tight so the signal-to-noise ratio stays high.
What We Stand For
Honesty over hype. Our product descriptions reflect actual ownership experience, not spec sheets rephrased from press releases. If a product has a weakness worth knowing, we say so.
Curation over volume. We carry fewer than 40 SKUs. That’s intentional. A smaller catalogue means every product earns its place every quarter.
Longevity over trend. We stock gear designed to last and prioritise products with strong warranty coverage. Buying once costs less than buying twice.
The Team
Mia Holloway — Founder & Editor
Mia spent eight years reviewing consumer electronics before deciding the publications she wrote for were optimising for page views rather than useful advice. She started Voltacore to answer the question she kept getting from friends: “just tell me what to buy.” She carries a MacBook Pro 14″, an iPhone 16 Pro, and a pair of AirPods Pro everywhere she goes.
Lucas Ferreira — Head of Operations
Lucas runs the supply chain, handles vendor relationships, and writes the specs tables that customers seem to love. Before Voltacore he worked logistics for a consumer electronics distributor and has strong opinions about USB cable quality standards. His desk has exactly four devices and zero cable ties.
Remi Okonkwo — Customer Experience
Remi answers every customer email personally and tracks return reasons with a rigour that has changed which products we stock more than once. If you’ve emailed support, you’ve spoken to Remi. She is also the reason our return policy is one of the few in this category that doesn’t require a fight.
